The research profile of the University Medical Center Magdeburg (UMMD) is characterized by the two nationally and internationally visible and recognized foci of Immunology including Molecular Medicine of Inflammation and Neurosciences. These research foci are complemented by diverse research activities in other areas.
Research cooperations exist with regional non-university research institutions such as the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology (LIN), the Helmholtz Institute for Infection Research (HZI), the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems (MPI) and the Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE).
